Carousel of Dreams 2021
Andrea Klann is a visual artist, writer and creative thinker. Her studio is found off the coast of Vancouver, in a bungalow she and her partner barged to the island.
Her professional art-making practice displays her fascination with narrative and the fusion of realism with the oddly imagined, resulting in artworks that provoke deep contemplation. A graduate of the University of BC, Andrea also studied at Emily Carr University and in London, UK. With an extensive history of public exhibitions, her oil paintings are represented in Vancouver by Kurbatoff Gallery (www.eaklann.com) and held in numerous private collections around the globe.
Her workshops have inspired students of all ages across four school districts and led her to develop and lead the Art Intensive Program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
Possessing a great passion for both words and images, Andrea has written and illustrated nonfiction, essay and picture books and worked for publishers such as The National Post, The Economist Intelligence Unit and The Guardian and The Observer UK. She loves connecting with people and finds tremendous inspiration in fusing her professional artistic practice with the sharing of artful learning and discovery; guiding students on transformative journeys to inspire and reclaim creative potential.
